Seems like everyone is re-upping my songs. That is 100% OK with me. My .psarcs are completely free for everyone, I DO NOT even try to hide the fact that I have no copyright for anything I've ever done. People on CF can re-distribute my .psarcs according to the CF rules i.e ADOPT them! Please adopt them, like I did with 6fingers, not abuse them. Good luck all, happy hunting :))) |

"This is a song pack, there are actually two songs in it. One has guitar and one does not have guitar. They are called "Comfortably Backing" in game and should sit adjacent. Maybe raise the issue in the Song Manager thread if you need it to do something. |

I want to make Vegas from scratch again with a proper sync and tidied guitar tabs. I think I made this 3 years ago, I've learned a lot :D I didn't realise you made Graffitti on the Train, I love that song. I'll need to give it a play. If you want accuracy play the Rhythm path, which is the official book tabs. I made Lead the way I want to play it, and I like my rock G chords. When you are slamming this on an acoustic outside of RS, rock G sounds far better to my ears and is easier to control. The filter effect on the opening tone is to simulate the car radio effect on the recorded song. I agree it could maybe be done better, but I've always kinda liked it and it does not annoy me. Its the kind of thing that you could spend 3 hours trying to get better, then use the original anyway :D |

With all the double/treble posts going on here, you would think that this website needs a fix... The "official tab" is the hardest of them all. It contains a lot of partial chord hits that, while sounding awesome in GP and much like the song, makes the RS chart look like a dog's dinner and also extremely hard to score. I know the tabs that I used are "official" because they are identical to the tabs in the official PF book I own. Someone programmed the tabs from the book into GP. I made the Lead arrangement "Plum's tabs" to try to alleviate this RS artifact, making it more fun to play in RS and to score more highly for normal Joes. I take on board the recent comments and I have actually updated this custom at ground level, working in EoF to incorporate my new skills (since I made this like 3 years ago) and the new techniques available in updated creation software. I just need my kid to get off Titanfall 2 and let his dad use the pc to test my latest incarnation... should come this evening (UK time) at some point :D |

Thanks for all your great cdlc @ Edit - To be honest I think this needs more than an arrangement id update, as do a few of my PF songs. Bass tabs are generally not up to the same standard as guitar tabs unfortunately. There is one part in Knockin (the breakdown) where its clearly generic repeat bass tabs when there should be dedicated riffs, but its only for two bars or so. I can't work these out myself, I am no bass player. Civil War is a bit basic on the bass, I'll give you that. I think November Rain is pretty basic stuff too. Other than that I find all the bass tabs pretty spot on, a lot better GNR bass tabs than I've (personally) seen in any other GNR cdlc. |

I am telling you know lyrics will be a pain in the ass. Ultrastar does not like going past 4 mins, never mind 3 hours. It will be hours of working out how to actually get a basic sync in Ultrastar, then 10s of hours sorting them out manually in EoF. You could always do a quick botch job, but that would defeat the purpose and I think Aludog would only add quality lyrics to his custom :D |

Just worked fine for me... I opened it up as I thought 1.4mb was a bit dubious, but its just a short song :D I have to say what an excellent sync job you did on this, best work I've seen in a while  TO suggest some improvements I'd say - last note should be 24 with a bend. I suspect EoF chopped it on import because you didn't tell it to use 24 frets. On further looking, EoF is set to 22 frets, so there must be more mistakes littered throughout. I'd set EoF manually to 24 frets and re-import the GP file (ask if you need help with any of that) - there needs to be copious amounts of palm mutes through this. At least palm mute the open E strings, and probably most of the work on the bottom E and A strings Anyway, great job and I look forward to a proper play later :D |

Also, the tones are different, the audio is much higher quality and the charts have been tidied up to not have infinite sustain all over them. Those are pretty big differences... I do not add fingering or handshapes because I do not want to, I do not need them to play the song. What notes/techniques are missing? If you are on about the intro riff then I do not see how that could have handshapes markings that would make it any clearer. Not the way I play it anyway, but I've never played guitar "properly" :D CF is an open market. Feel free to make your own version with all the added extras you desire. Edited - Chlipouni explains the picking section better :D As for the tone, I would suggest starting with the opening tone and adding some gain on the amp to make the lead tone. It doesn't have to be massively different from the main tone imo, just a slight boost and a little more crunch. Failing that, some kind of level boost before the amp. I don't think that the in game amp models will react to this the same as the real life counterpart, so maybe try just adding amp gain first. |

I'd just like to say that as a Pink Floyd fan I had no trouble whatsoever understanding what the differences would be to the exisitng versions :D Maybe put (Live) in the song title though? I thought this was epic, really great fun to play. I played the RS12 versions loads so I kinda know the song and it was nice keeping on my toes for the slightly different licks. I especially liked the opening tone, a big smile came over my face when I hit the first few notes and I knew this was gonna be good. My only criticism would be the lead tone, to me it just does not fit. I've love to see just a boosted version of the first tone going into the more intense solo sections. As it stands there is too much of a difference and while I was really getting into the song the change of tone made me lose my mojo. Other than that I agree that the picking at the end is a bit hard. I don't suppose there is an "easy way" to show it because no matter how it is displayed it will be extremely difficult to play. It would be far too boring not to have it there though and I am sure with a few more runs I will pick it up. Nice one man :D |

Clean your game using the gigabox. And about the bass, I did what I could. I believe I used the best bass tabs available, but alas I am not bass transcriber to fill in the gaps. I do not believe that is correct. "The Show Must Go On" is a famous phrase in which "The" forms an integral part. Title: Fearless Date: March 12, 2015 11:34 AM |
Many of my 180 customs have broken sections in riff repeater (not all sections in a song, just one or two), I gave up worrying about it. So don't take it personally :D Another thing to try is local sections. If you are using global sections (same sections for all arrangements) it can cause bother. I haven't nailed it down to hard and fast rules but I think it can be to do with "empty" sections (sections containing no gems), or a combination or empty sections, which can occur if you are using global sections. If it bug you that much you could try erasing all sections, then adding arrangement-specific sections. More work and not guaranteed to work, but if its buggin you its worth a try. I always have sections as Intro, Verse1, Verse2, ..., VerseN, Outro Good luck :D |

Title: Fearless Date: March 12, 2015 5:43 AM |
There has been talk recently of notes (gems) that are slightly off snap at the beginning of sections causing them to fail. Try this: - Load up your EoF project - On guitar arrangement (do it to all arrangements) press Ctrl + A, this highlights all the notes - Press Ctrl + Shift + R, this resnaps everything (make sure you have grid snap turned on in EoF settings, and I usually have it as 1/48) - If the guitar arrangement has tech notes (bends) then you need to press F4 to go to tech notes and resnap them too - Resnap all arrangements - Save EoF and rebuild custom A problem might be, especially with the tech notes, that you get a warning from EoF saying "going to have to snap two notes together". Do not click proceed, press cancel. You will see that EoF has taken you to the (first) offending set of tech notes. Chances are that there are tech notes hiding under one another, so just delete the excess. Repeat this until EoF gives you no more "snap two notes together" messages. Good luck :D Also, +1 for E standard. I am lazy :D And I used to play this in E standard too, so I know it can sound ok. |

I've never added DD to anyone else's custom but it is most definitely possible, all you need is the Toolkit. I think that there is a dedicated tutorial on it, just search the help tutorials section. I don't add DD because I like to have good quality control on my customs, testing them vigorously before release. Using DD can potentially add hours onto the custom making process - there are complications that can arise that can take time to troubleshoot. It also takes time to use the DD correctly. It is an amazing program and I admire the maker very much, but sometimes the results are not natural at all (playing notes in an order that there's no way a human teacher would get you to play). You have to experiment with the available settings, and so that takes me into more hours more testing... Plus I personally like to play songs at 100%, so its a bit selfish :D I would definitely go for it man, the more you use it the more you will learn how to use it effectively for different types of songs. And once you learn the process you are talking (literally) 2 mins to take any custom and add DD to it. |

regarding vocals i will add them to all my customs asap if someone know an effective way of doing it - Download and install UltraStar Creator (from their own website) - Type "lyrics metallica whom bell tolls" into Google - Copy the lyrics from A-Z lyrics - Paste them into Notepad - Edit as necessary (sometime they have , so copy/paste the actual chorus words) - Start new file with USC using the guitar.ogg from your EoF project - Copy and paste from Notepad - Tap in the lyrics - Repeat until happy (practice makes it easier) - Save the end result (its called a .txt file but its in a certain format for import to EoF) - Import into EoF (Import Lyrics) - Save EoF project (so it makes a lyrics.xml for you) - Build custom again using the template you saved when you built it the last time adding in the lyrics.xml into arrangements The song may crash, you just need to give your arrangements new arrangement numbers. Open the toolkit, load whom bell tolls template, remove all arrangements and add them in again. Rebuild. There may be more problems, but that is basically it. It may take you a few hours the first time, but the more you do the easier it gets. Now lyrics rarely take me more than 10 mins (for a 3 or 4 min song, and that's with a practice run). |

I'll give it a look when I can be bothered listening to the song again... The arrangement with all the harmonics (rhythm) is actually Nashville tuning - its stil normal EADGBE but it should use thinner (unwound) strings for the bottom EAD, but tuned an octave up. This would make harmonics a lot easier and ring out far more clearly, but I doubt anyone is gonna Nashville tune their guitar just for this :D Thanks to GTLO for explaining Nashville tuning to me :D I may also add the other guitar arrangement (open G or open D I can't mind) if people ask for it. |

Ok here it is plain and simple. I made a new version of this for myself because Soilman used a shit mp3 and it hurts my ears to play his version. When the drums and distorted guitars crash in after the intro, it's one of the greatest moments in recorded rock. Im sorry, but 128 kbps mp3 (which was probably the same audio from his RS12 version and has been converted to death) just doesn't cut it. I want my speakers/headphones to move some serious air. And I believe that there are people on here who appreciate good sound quality too. Also, I wanted to use my own tones and fix any abnormalities in the chart like infinite sustain and legato slides. I put "Plum's Version" in the song title because that's what the users on here asked me to do when I first made doubles. I actually hate it too, but I thought that it had become convention. I've taken it out, let's see what happens... I've also added comments to the op. I didn't do it last night because I'd had a few cans and my sarcastic humor can offend. So I thought it best to say nothing. That still offended... mmm, the irony. As for bass I am sorry. I looked through every single tab for this song and there are none that are correct. I can't tab those hard riffs myself. And I don't think it's the entire second half, there's a few missing riffs in the slowdown section that's about it. I did mention it in the release notes, if people bother to read them. If anyone can point me in the direction of an accurate tab I will fix. |

Yeah, I could hear it when I was syncing it up. I think you are correct, I seem to remember 3 little riffs not being charted. If you could do the research that would be grand :D I'd rather spend 3 hours making a new custom than finding and correcting 3 little bass riffs... The easiest way to do it would be to take a vid of the song playing in Rocksmith so you can just watch in in media player or whatever and put it back as many times as you like. It may be easier to find if you don't play along, and the trick to getting accurate times is to play the song, hit "restart song" and start the vid. That way the video starts at the exact point of origin and you can make accurate comments on the timing of the riffs. I hope you do man, it was buggin me a little that it wasn't 100% when the rest of it is so perfect :D |

That's because I steel tones from official songs :D This tone, my favorite tone and in lots of my customs, is from Velvet Revolver's Slither (import tool from RS1), albeit with some reverb added. Pretty sure there's a tutorial on tones where I typed out how I go about that... Have fun :) |

It took me longer cause I did actually put lots of vibrato in, but it made the chart seem untidy and cluttered. So I took it all back out again, except for a few notes. Just think it looks nicer this way, and neater so people can see what to do easier. I could have put tonnes of slides in too, but it would only make it look more complicated that it actually is. Plum, I had a chance to play through this, and found a few errors; The bends at the 14th fret (coming off the g at 12th fret 3rd string) on the 2nd string should be at the 13th fret. After that second bend at 13th, 2nd string, you have a series of 3 bends at the 15th fret, 2nd string. The first bend you have there should actually be a slide up to 17th fret from the 15th, 2nd string. The final triplet in the solo should be at 7th/8th fret 2nd string, or 11th/12th fret, 3rd string. The notes leading into that can also be played in simile at the 11th(bend, 1/2step), 10th(v), and 8th(v) fret, 2nd string (which is the route I usually take when playing this solo). If you've got good finger reach, you can hit the 6th string 15th, 14th, and 12th with the above. Also, the two pinch harmonic bends are on the 3rd string, second fret, not at 5th string 7th fret. Hope that was helpful. I have implemented these changes and added some eye candy. The changes are correct and I thank you, as should every Floyd fan. Now v2. Tell me if anything else needs upgraded... Enjoy man :D |

I actually seen this after I made the custom http://youtu.be/T84kjkj2j4s That is played slightly differently too, maybe how you play it. Some guy has tabbed this himself and made the GP file, I went with that. I realised it wasn't perfect, but I stuck to the custom's tabs in the vid I posted and it sounds pretty spot on, so I didn't change anything. In saying that the last 3 notes have always bugged me, I'll try them on the 2nd string. I will see if I can stomach listening to the song some more to implement your suggestions. I'm pretty sure if you play it your way you can still register the hits though :) |

Try resetting your arrangement numbers, as the game has an internal memory once you play a song: - Go to toolkit and load up your save for this CDLC - Remove ALL arrangements (including vocals) - Change the DLC Name (the box top left) to something new (e.g. U2Plum to U2Plum2) - Add all arrangements again (to give them unique arrangement ID numbers) - Make sure your tones/paths etc are all set up again - Save that toolkit template (you don't wanna do that again...) - Generate new dlc If you have been making major edits (changing the CDLC audio for example, like adding leading silence) it can cause problems for the game as it "remembers" previous iterations. Whenever I edit tone change positions (and for some other reasons) I need to do this. Give it a blast man, can't hurt :D |

In the rhythm section I found it difficult to see the chord changes because they came close together. Thanks for the hard work.Yeah, because there are lots of muted chords and other stuff going on the game doesn't do repeater boxes, it always draws a whole new box. It does make it look a bit congested. The chords repeat a lot, you could use riff repeater to memorise the chords before attempting the entire song. I normally put a few short phrases near the start of the song to facilitate learning the chord progressions. The chords do sound amazing when you get them going, so it's worth persevering :) |

I've made customs from scratch before (in fact it's easier to make them from scratch when you first try to make customs), and I've adjusted bad tabs before. Now I'm too lazy and only try to work with good tabs, which work straight off or only require minimal adjustment. But you never know, new challenges and all that... There was a studio version of WOWY for RS1 and I'm pretty sure it got converted to RS14. The RS1 version looked like it was Ebow (full sustains) but I haven't tried the ES14 version. Much respect todtod! I tried some multitrack stuff (Love Spreads) and I think that you are underestimating the extra work... it's a lot more than 5x the work :) Did you give the different customs (no bass/no lead etc) different arrangement numbers? This allows people to have them in their game at the same time (instead of having to erase one to put another in). You also need to give the audio different file names, and naming the album art different names helps too... not to mention giving the DLCName box unique names, and the actual song name " (No Bass)"... 5x more work is an understatement :) P.S. I like mixing, so if you have any more projects I'd be quite happy to have a bash at mixing up the audio. You need to watch out the for "multitracks" that have been separated using software and eq filters (usually done by fans to isolate bass etc). The true multitrack stems (made for guitar hero, tv adverts, film soundtracks) are the real quality ones to go for. |

High expectations is a beast. I thought, personally, A Man And A Woman was the most fun bass I did so far, for my U2 customs anyway... I can't sync worth a shit tonight, gonna try again tomorrow night sans beer :) |

No crash toolkit? WOot WoOt :) Now I can fix little one note things (like the slides from the 15th fret in this) without worrying about it taking half an hour and 3 failed builds... :) |

Latest toolkit? 2.5.0 me thinks... And yes, tuning said Eb standard. No dodgy Eb drop Db here :) And I told you that guy's tabs were top drawer. More Eb live U2 later, if I can get some peace... Edit - also, do you like the bass tone? It's actually from Champagne Supernova :) |

again I love this plum but (and I'm ready to get ripped apart here) I'm definitely playing the right chords during the verses but it only seems to pick up the odd one rather than all of them. What am I doing wrong? When I was testing it I actually put my pick down for the verse chords (the yellow and green ones) and used my fingers, then picked the pick up again for the choruses. I use a Strat, which has a slight curve on the fretting side of the neck and makes it hard to "strum" those chords. It's far easier to "strum" on a completely flat fretboard guitar, like a Les Paul or SG etc.. Xyber plays it in the video better than I ever played it :) |

Got bass?It does now :) When I first started with customs, using GP tabs just added too much complexity to the process. I used to tab things by hand. I tried this again last night and it all fell into place. Enjoy man :) I will say though, the reason I didn't release it last night (UK time) is that I thought the bass during the solo was off. I am sitting with the tab book in front of me now and it looks correct i.e. the bass is in the correct key for each chord change (Bm, D, Em, Em, Bm, D, Em, Em, D, A, Em, G, D, A) during the solo, but it just doesn't sound right to my ears. There's not much more I can do, I ain't a bass player and I can't tab by ear. So I am interested in what you think... Since I was using the GP tab, I lined up the Lead guitar too while I was at it. It is exactly what is in the tab book. So I have made that the main Lead arrangement and put my old arrangement (the one in the vid above) as the Lead Bonus arrangement. You enjoy U2 fans! And thanks for the compliment masaru, yes that is me :) |

The toolkit can convert from PC to Mac by pressing one button. Download the toolkit and you can convert any song yourself... Might do Taper Jean Girl or Fans, but got some other bands to do first. |

I was gonna do Stir It Up but if you are doing it I will tend to one of the million other songs I want to do :) Let me know if you want the GP file, I have a real nice one for Stir It Up... I do have plans for the live version of No Woman No Cry though. The only problem is that there is no real guitar in the song itself until the solo, so it may be a bit boring for guitar players. I'm sure bass players will have fun though :) |

Nice sound, but wrong tablature i guess I am really sorry for ruining your life. The custom I spent hours making, testing and tweaking is wrong because you found a 2.40 video online of some guy playing a few campfire chords? The GP file that someone spent hours making is wrong because you found a video of some guy with black plastic rings on? The custom that Xyber decided to make a video of, probably because he thought it was, God forbid, a bit of fun, is wrong? Well I guess I'll just remove this from the database and never make any customs ever again :( Oh wait, the video I posted of Taylor Swift's guitar player playing this live shows that it is charted pretty correctly. Call off The Samaritans, it's ok, I'm fine. |
